Magnus' Story S1E9

 

"The Whistleblower"

Before heading to Eradell Jessel's, the disgruntled ex-Auranthos Magetech employee, in Blackrise Hill, it dawns on our hero that he is in need of more than trench-coat pockets to carry all the potions and gadgets he's been accumulating. So, while still in the Mystic Market, and getting directions to an appropriate stall from the pleasant Selvyn Rogg, Magnus goes in-search of some sort of bag to tote his gear.

 Following the old merchants directions through the now crowded maze of wares, the half devlin finds what he's looking for. And then some.  

The stall is owned by a pretty, pink haired faerie named Saylee, who is dressed in clothes a decade or two out of style and clearly looking to flirt with her handsome customer.

After a little back-and-forth, Saylee brings out a sling bag that she thinks will suit the needs of Magnus. And, as it turns out, is exactly what he was looking for. A small Bag of Holding, that he can wear across his chest (under his trench) that, once filled with his gear, reads Magnus' desires as to which of the stashed items he is looking for. 

A deal is made and Magnus even comes away with a date for his efforts.

 Catching a taxi over to Blackrise Hill, near The Red House, Magnus, while always checking to see if he's being tailed, surveils the apartment build that houses the ex-Auranthos employee.

He eventually buzzes Jessel's apartment and is greeted by a female voice ask his business.

He mentions Elara, and the demeanor of Eradell changes and soon the two are in her cluttered, smoke filled, apartment pouring over hard-copy documentations of the shady dealing and down-right atrocities The Auranthos corporation has had a hand it over the years. 

While the half-elf whistleblower continues to tell Magnus about all she's seen, drinking shot after shot to calm her nerves and chain smoking, the detective discovers a strange cypher that he sends over to Nix, who, eventually, alerts Magnus to the fact that it's in Draconic...

 Magnus, taking the notes and time schedules he needs, and a security key-crystal given to him by Eradell, makes his way back to Æther City Investigations to study and prepare.
