Æther City is full of entities that are worthy of note. From good to bad, and everything in-between, the free city is a breeding ground for autonomous groups with goals all their own. Maybe you work with them, maybe you steer clear of them, and maybe you've only heard rumor of them. 

 

SOCIETIES OF ÆTHER CITY:

 

The Arcane Syndicate

Description: A powerful organization that controls the flow of magical resources and technology. They operate like a corporate entity.

Goals: To maintain their monopoly on arcane technology.

Notable Members: High-ranking executives who are also skilled mages and technomancers.

 

The Technomancer’s Guild

Description: A society of engineers and mages dedicated to the fusion of magic and technology. They are responsible for many of the advancements in arcano-technology.

Goals: To push the boundaries of what is possible with arcano-tech and ensure its ethical use.

Notable Members: Inventors, researchers, and rogue scientists.

 

The Sunder

Description: A secretive cult that believes in the purity of magic and opposes its fusion with technology. They operate from hidden sanctuaries and conduct rituals to preserve ancient magical traditions.

Goals: To protect the sanctity of magic and prevent its corruption by technology.

Notable Members: Mystics, druids, and traditionalist mages.

 

The Alchemical Circle

Description: A society of alchemists who specialize in creating powerful potions and transmuting materials. They are known for their secretive nature and complex rituals.

Goals: To unlock the secrets of immortality and ultimate transmutation.

Notable Members: Master alchemists, potion brewers, and transmutation experts.

 

The Etherium Collective

Description: A group of scholars and mages dedicated to studying the ethereal plane and its influence on the material world. They often conduct dangerous experiments to harness ethereal energy.

Goals: To bridge the gap between the ethereal and material planes and harness their combined power.

Notable Members: Ethereal researchers, planar mages, and spirit mediums.

 

The Coalition

Description: A group of city workers and union members dedicated to fighting the upper caste's ever-growing exploitation of the working class. They often have protests and strikes in the name of fair pay and better working conditions.

Goals: To secure good wages and safe work environments for all its members.

Notable Members: Mechanics, sewage maintenance workers, construction workers.

 

 Workers First

Description: A radical group of rebels and terrorists trying to affect change by employing anarchy and terror. They often bomb businesses of the upper caste and perform acts of sabotage.

Goals: To remove The Council and the upper caste and replace them with an egalitarian government.

Notable Members: Insurgents, anarchists, and radicals.

 

 

GANGS OF ÆTHER CITY:

 

The Fist

Description: A gang of mercenaries and thieves who use advanced power armor and arcane gadgets to carry out heists and assassinations.

Leader: A former military officer turned rogue technomancer.

 

Ember Blade

Description: A street gang that specializes in fire-based magic. They are known for their fiery tempers and destructive tendencies.

Leader: A pyromancer with a vendetta against the Arcane Syndicate.

 

The Gearshift Shadows

Description: A gang that uses clockwork automatons and mechanical traps to control their territory. They are experts in sabotage and espionage.

Leader: A genius inventor who was exiled from the Technomancer’s Guild.

 

The Iron Rats

Description: A gang of scavengers and tinkerers who repurpose discarded technology and magical artifacts. They are experts in improvisation and guerrilla tactics.
